Change and my rantings.

I am not here to tell people who to vote. I am here to simply state my opinion about this year's election.

Less than 2 days before the Philippines 2016 election and i know i am not alone.

I am undecided.

I am confused.

My dilemma? I do not want to waste my vote by not voting, but i do not want to vote just for the sake of casting my vote.

I searched the web and listened to talks regarding the running candidates, trying to come up with the final decision and final list of people i am to cast on may 9. Yet it seemed impossible to find unbiased answers as people are entitled to their own opinions. I was shocked on how low our government could go just to have power. I find it hard to believe that this is the kind of government we have now (pero  matagal naman ng ganito, ngayon lang din ako nagreact dito and mas open na kase ngayon dahil sa social media). Their actions are so childish you'd think  they are not being elected to run a country with millions of lives that somehow depended on them. It appears to be a joke. Parang isang Comedy bar na pinipilit magpatawa kahit di naman nakakatawa kundi nakakainis na. Para silang third party sa isang love triangle na pinagpipilitan ang sarili kahit alam na nga mali at walang pag asa. Ang babaw.

As tonight marked the end of the election campaign. The night was filled with campaign songs from different aspiring politicians trying to make a last mark in the minds and hearts of the people whatever motives they have in running. Facebook and instagram feeds are flooded with photos of the last rally held for the running candidates for presidency. However even though photos are worth a thousand words, still it is not safe to conclude as things can change anytime.

Perhaps the clamour for change is too much, or maybe this can just be a fanaticism on the notion of change... The idea that a change of leader and strategies can somehow overturn all the mistakes of e past government.  With the hype going on, we all know where this is heading. You all know what i mean(or not). Okay.

Na mananalo si Duterte. Tama?

Oo.

Tama.

In my existence, this is the craziest national campaign election i have witnessed. And I am frightened of what might actually happen on the voting day, but more of what is to happen in the upcoming days, months and for the next six years of the winning president. Will they be able to do justice for the votes they'll get or puro salita lang din. We can only hope for the best.

I hope and pray that the Philippines will achieve the change it is looking for. It's been yearning for change for so long, it has become a den of thieves and mediocracy.

Sinong hindi magnanais ng pagbabago kung hindi mo nararamdaman ang pag asenso?

Yet, if we cry for change and refute it, anong silbi?

Kung hindi mo sisimulan ang pagbabago ngayon, kailan pa?

(Andami kong tanong. Hehe)

I have come across this in an article i have read, "the duterte vote is a vote against the naive emotionalism that imprisoned the minds of an entire generation of Filipinos over the last 30 years since the 1986 people power “revolution”.

The expectations from a democratic government created by the revolution which unified people from all walks of life have changed overtime. The voters now are no longer the same voters way back. Their opinions are now affected by the vast impact of social media that at some point it actually made it easier for them to voice out, show and access reality.

I salute the filipino people for standing up for their beliefs whoever they vote for. I am not insinuating voters to go for duterte because he is mentioned in this post. Instead, i am telling you to be wise. If there is a need for you leave that position unshaded on your ballot because that is what your belief tells you, then leave it. Use your brain, weigh your options and just don't go with the flow. Remember, That river will not run the other way around in case you change your mind later.

I remember the tagline they have in the latest installment of the Captain America saga. It says, united we stand, divided we fall. So cliche. Masyado ng pudpod pero sobrang swak ngayon. The filipino people are very sentimental people. And these politicians have targeted us where we are weak. Diba ganun naman talaga sa teleserye? kung sino ang kawawa sya yung bida, kung sino ang nang aapi, sya ang kalaban. At the end of the day, sino ba ang nagwawagi?

We're all on the other side of the cliff right now. Waiting to take that jump. Some are full of courage ready for the unknown, some are afraid. No one knows what's in store for the Philippines, we can only change now with fingers crossed that the future will be better. We can start with ourselves (which is even hard to do).

*sigh*

So...

Who will win the race?

I will leave it up to you.

(Late post. Goodnight.)
