A Dance routine to Cheer for a lifetime

Life is a cartwheel...
It takes time and effort to perfect it.

To tell you the truth, i missed being able to bend my body like i've got no bones inside it. Hahahaha. As if i was as elastic as the rubber band. That was when i was in grade school. Due to the lack of stretching, practice and training... My ability to do so faded as i gained weight and grew up. I blame the physiological changes in a human body. Adults aren't as flexible as kids, you know, i realized that.

Before, i can do as many cartwheels as i want by following the line in the middle of the pavements in our place and i would do it as light as a bird. Now even with the urge to be able to do one, i can hardly carry my body up. And even if i manage to do so, my self diagnosed BPPV would strike right after. For those of you who doesn't know... Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo is a spinning sensation caused by changes in the position of the head. But despite feeling light headed, i'd want to do it again.

After 1234567890 years of focusing on work, here comes a break from all the daily routine i got accustomed to. - the Hospital Week. A cheerdance is one of the activities for that event and our boss wanted us to join, to show that we are active in curricular activities as well. I hesitated to participate because i knew i'd compromise a lot of things. But despite the sacrifices made, i can say, it was really worth the try.

I have been in a cheerdance... Hahaha. The ones we did in high school. Those were probably the last days i did cartwheels. It never hit my mind that once in my career as a professional i'd be doing it again.

It was a time to bond with old friends, met new acquaintances and got to know more some of my colleagues. It was a break from the monotony of my life.

We came up with the idea for the theme after watching almost all UST and UP cheerdance routines. We had a lot of ideas and steps in mind but we had to do with what we've got.

We didn't have the luxury of time and manpower to come up with breathtaking routines but i could say that it was definitely an achievement learning everything within the 29 hours that were given to us as rehearsal time. I know we brought headaches to our choreographers. Haha. Thank you for being patient with us though there were moments we lost ours. Knowing that we could make it is already something to be proud of. What more if we were given ample time to do so.

Nevertheless, it was a fun performance. And as they say, you have to get out of your comfort zone to experience new things. Aside from the refreshing thought of having a break from my common duties and work, We had a costume refreshing to the eyes. I am in love with the head dress i didn't want to remove it. Lol. It reminded me of Pocahontas, and i how i became my own version of the disney character i loved when i was young. Haha.

So... So much of my ado. Sharing the photos now.

me trying to take selfies of myself just because i love how i looked. =P

me and Bertha... our choreographer. He's a really nice person and he's fun to be with.

the gang...

We are The Black Nazarene Hospital, Inc cheerdancers. Keep up the force.

This post deserves a toast. Haha. I've been MIA for a long while.

Au revoir.

The Eye Chronicle: Now you see me thoughts

Now you see me, now you don't. The legend of the eye. What else?

To all who haven't watched the movie, i am warning you that this contain spoilers.

-----------------------------

Three years after the hit jumping off roofs and showering their audiences with money, here comes a sequel to the phenomenal Now You See Me 1.

Now you see me 2 houses the original characters we loved from the very start excluding the high the high priestess card holder, Henley Reed, portrayed by Isla Fisher who had to give up the filming because of her pregnancy. The twin hypnotist of Meritt, portayed by Woody Harrelson and with the beautiful Liza Caplan joining the group as the 4th horsemen.

To all who enjoyed a lot the first one just like me, well we expected a lot from this sequel.

Yet, the very grandiose thought about magic from the first movie somehow lost its magnificence in its part 2. They didn't really pick up from where they left the last time, did they?

I expected more breath taking magic shows while the whole world and fbi crew is in pursuit. Probably more death defying spectacles. I expected a scene far from the lights of the city since the teaser shown at the end of part 1 was a breathe of fresh air from the usual hustle and bustle they had always found themselves unto.

Now You See Me 2 was tinged with the emotional Dylan Rhodes as he reminisced the death of his father whom he was really attached to and the main reason for the 30 year planned revenge. The mysterious Rhodes, was exposed in this movie, hence he has now become another apple of the eye of his former job, the FBI.

When i first watched Now you see me, it actually made me believe in magic. It made me feel like i was actually there in the audience watching them live. I never wanted to miss a single detail because it houses so much information that could not complete the puzzle.

Now You See Me 2 is a good movie, entertaining at its level. However i know there's so much more for this movie.

You all must have been wondering just like me, where that bigger than all of us thingy went to. What happened to the magic behind everything else, more than just some silly little magic trick.

Another one, People must have been missing Henley in the scene like how Daniel Atlas missed her. I have my fingers crossed she'll be back if there be another chapter for this movie.

Nevertheless, i enjoyed the movie. But not as quite as the first one that i could no longer count how many times i have watched it on repeat and still enjoy every part of it.

Like how they said, part 2 had too much going on, it lost its muchness.
Hoping it will come back.

Christina Grimmie: tribute

Who is Christina Grimmie?

She is one of youtube's sensation known as Christinagrimmie and Zeldalovex64. She is also known as therealgrimmie in Instagram. Christina being discovered in youtube in 2009, showed great potential doing covers on various hit songs.

I didn't know her back then. So i wondered who this awesome singer was because she amazed me so much that i started following her on twitter and on youtube. It's been four years since i first heard christina grimmie's incredible cover of Elton John's Your Song.

Now i listen to her cover and It's still as classic like the first time i found it online. I would actually watch and put her songs on replay whether on the computer or on my phone. That's when the song really sank into my mind. I'd actually remember her singing it more than the cast from the movie Moulin Rouge.

When Christina Grimmie auditioned for the Voice, it was another breakthrough despite the fact that she had been doing well on her own for her youtube videos. Her covers have always been a joy to watch, even her vlogs and hostings.

a photo i got from google, tweaked it a for her birthday last 2013
It's just really sad that the very reason that catapulted her to the top, is the very reason that brought this tragic end to this very talented 22 year old.

A lot of people are asking why... And It is human nature to ask and wonder why things like this happen and why do people who do this actually do it. It's really crazy. No one actually knows answer.

Well, i don't want to talk about how odd it feels to be realizing that she's gone... instead, like any other fan out there, i'd like to remember the happiness Christina Grimmie brought to the world when she decided to open doors for her passion.

I appreciated her Titanium cover more than the original and always remembered her everytime titanium is being sang in Pitch perfect 1. Just saying.

So let us drown ourselves not in tears but in Christina Grimmie's music. She'd want it that way, for sure.

Rest easy, Therealgrimmie. Surely the world will miss your sweet voice.

PS Also praying for the victims of the shooting in Orlando the day after the incident.

Change and my rantings.

I am not here to tell people who to vote. I am here to simply state my opinion about this year's election.

Less than 2 days before the Philippines 2016 election and i know i am not alone.

I am undecided.

I am confused.

My dilemma? I do not want to waste my vote by not voting, but i do not want to vote just for the sake of casting my vote.

I searched the web and listened to talks regarding the running candidates, trying to come up with the final decision and final list of people i am to cast on may 9. Yet it seemed impossible to find unbiased answers as people are entitled to their own opinions. I was shocked on how low our government could go just to have power. I find it hard to believe that this is the kind of government we have now (pero  matagal naman ng ganito, ngayon lang din ako nagreact dito and mas open na kase ngayon dahil sa social media). Their actions are so childish you'd think  they are not being elected to run a country with millions of lives that somehow depended on them. It appears to be a joke. Parang isang Comedy bar na pinipilit magpatawa kahit di naman nakakatawa kundi nakakainis na. Para silang third party sa isang love triangle na pinagpipilitan ang sarili kahit alam na nga mali at walang pag asa. Ang babaw.

As tonight marked the end of the election campaign. The night was filled with campaign songs from different aspiring politicians trying to make a last mark in the minds and hearts of the people whatever motives they have in running. Facebook and instagram feeds are flooded with photos of the last rally held for the running candidates for presidency. However even though photos are worth a thousand words, still it is not safe to conclude as things can change anytime.

Perhaps the clamour for change is too much, or maybe this can just be a fanaticism on the notion of change... The idea that a change of leader and strategies can somehow overturn all the mistakes of e past government.  With the hype going on, we all know where this is heading. You all know what i mean(or not). Okay.

Na mananalo si Duterte. Tama?

Oo.

Tama.

In my existence, this is the craziest national campaign election i have witnessed. And I am frightened of what might actually happen on the voting day, but more of what is to happen in the upcoming days, months and for the next six years of the winning president. Will they be able to do justice for the votes they'll get or puro salita lang din. We can only hope for the best.

I hope and pray that the Philippines will achieve the change it is looking for. It's been yearning for change for so long, it has become a den of thieves and mediocracy.

Sinong hindi magnanais ng pagbabago kung hindi mo nararamdaman ang pag asenso?

Yet, if we cry for change and refute it, anong silbi?

Kung hindi mo sisimulan ang pagbabago ngayon, kailan pa?

(Andami kong tanong. Hehe)

I have come across this in an article i have read, "the duterte vote is a vote against the naive emotionalism that imprisoned the minds of an entire generation of Filipinos over the last 30 years since the 1986 people power “revolution”.

The expectations from a democratic government created by the revolution which unified people from all walks of life have changed overtime. The voters now are no longer the same voters way back. Their opinions are now affected by the vast impact of social media that at some point it actually made it easier for them to voice out, show and access reality.

I salute the filipino people for standing up for their beliefs whoever they vote for. I am not insinuating voters to go for duterte because he is mentioned in this post. Instead, i am telling you to be wise. If there is a need for you leave that position unshaded on your ballot because that is what your belief tells you, then leave it. Use your brain, weigh your options and just don't go with the flow. Remember, That river will not run the other way around in case you change your mind later.

I remember the tagline they have in the latest installment of the Captain America saga. It says, united we stand, divided we fall. So cliche. Masyado ng pudpod pero sobrang swak ngayon. The filipino people are very sentimental people. And these politicians have targeted us where we are weak. Diba ganun naman talaga sa teleserye? kung sino ang kawawa sya yung bida, kung sino ang nang aapi, sya ang kalaban. At the end of the day, sino ba ang nagwawagi?

We're all on the other side of the cliff right now. Waiting to take that jump. Some are full of courage ready for the unknown, some are afraid. No one knows what's in store for the Philippines, we can only change now with fingers crossed that the future will be better. We can start with ourselves (which is even hard to do).

*sigh*

So...

Who will win the race?

I will leave it up to you.

(Late post. Goodnight.)

Harry Potter: The Cursed Child

I managed to take a glimpse of the Daily Prophet the other night that I got news about the Wizarding World.

I admit, I haven’t been really on track with Harry potter news ever since the series ended but I do have an idea about the upcoming movie of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. If only it were true then I would have started my trail finding one Beast I can make wise use of right now.

LOL. JK.

The Wizarding World was in deep sorrow when Alan Rickman who portrayed Severus Snape, the bravest man we’ve ever known passed away. My salute to you Mr. Rickman, no one can ever portray Snape like you did. Raise your wands muggles and purebloods and pay a moment of tribute for our beloved Half Blood Prince.

Geesh, my eyes welled up *sniffs*

On a happy note, I bet Harry Potter fans went cray when the news about the Cursed Child went viral though it has been ages. Just like me many thought it would be a sequel for the series because fans are dying to have the adventure in the Wizarding World going. Witches and Wizards at heart never want it to end.

The Harry Potter 8 which is the Cursed Child isn’t going to be a novel sad to say despite the fact that it will be published. I got ecstatic myself when I heard about it then I did some further readings and found out that it is just going to be a stage play to be shown in London this summer, which tickets are already sold out. (Am I the last one to know?)

If you are excited to know more about it just like me, we just have to wait. (Apparate to the scene on July 30 mabe). *giggles*

I’d love an ebook but owning a Hard back edition will be best. (maybe someone can give it to me as a gift. Hahaha) *winks

Ciao for now. I am heading off to work.
